Evil building in Seacliff

Apartments are all the rave again. Not only found in the city but in every suburb that is under going change. And this of course includes the coastal strip. Seacliff is just south of Adelaide. A small, quiet beachside suburb uniquely unaffected by the spoils of mass development. Well, the times they are a'changin...
The trouble with older suburbs is original homes are on big blocks. Original homes on big blocks get razed. And there you have it, a permanent edifice of personal wealth and going one up on the Jone's. And once it starts, well...

If you can imagine it, more of this super structure exists at the rear (see far left of photo) of what is shown here. Built right onto the foreshore, this site now dominates the street scape. Furthermore the pristine ocean view the neighbors once enjoyed is long gone. There goes your stunning ocean view for someone else to gloat about (not to mention a depreciation of your own home's value). On ya mate!

On the day I photographed the site a local resident must have painted "Evil Building" on the side wall. My sentiments exactly!
